I am Back! Let's Look at Ann Hastings

Oh my gosh! has it really been 12 years since I started and then never finished this story? So many things have changed and I have learned so much.  I have a hard time getting all my thoughts in one place and I know I get everything confused very easily. Sorting thru pictures has been a nightmare.

That is just one pile - and believe it or not - I spent a whole day sorting thru them and putting them in order. Anyway - I want to start again - adding some of the new information I have come across thru these last years. And I guess it was fooling around with AI and the way it can enhance pictures like we have never imagined that got me started thinking about this page again.

So Let's start with  ANN NOONAN. (sometimes ANNE sometimes ANNA). Here is the family tree I have of her on Ancestry.

Looking at the bottom of that tree - I am a descendent of Dewey Hastings and His wife Frances Baker Hastings.  Ann is Dewey's Grandmother. She is my Great Great Grandmother - as my mother was one of Dewey and Frances' 6 children:

Eleanor June (Hastings) Little. 1923-2021
Dewey Jack Hastings 1927-2015
Lois Marilyn (Hastings) Bull 1928-2001 ** this is my momma
Joyce Audrey (Hastings) Keele 1931-2025
Roger Merritt Hastings 1936-1971
Constance Muriel (Hastings) Weller   b1941

Genealogy research takes you on journeys you can never imagine. Several years ago - while researching COLLATERAL LINES (brothers and sisters of my grandparents or direct lines) I came in contact with my mothers first cousins who were the children of my Grandpa Dewey Hastings brother:  Thomas. He had an amazing gaggle of children which resulted in many grandchildren - which I have been able to connect with on facebook. (Who says the internet is all bad?) Any way, one of my mom's cousins (Robert) had done some interesting ancestry research and he found out about Anna Noonan and Robert Hastings. In fact he some how had gotten a hold of a newspaper article, published (January 1905) shortly after Anna Noonan Hastings death. There was a remarkable story about her as the Girl who escaped being chased by wolves.

From that I was able to discover more about her by using Ancestry dot com and Family Tree.  I know she was born in Ireland around 1838.  Her parents were Patrick and Mary Noonan. She had several brothers and sisters.

She married Robert Hastings somewhere around 1855 in Ontario and then they moved to Buffalo NY.  One of their children (William J Hastings) was my great grandfather.  His son Dewey was my grandpa ... who was father to my momma.

So much more to come - but this picture of Ann was always a stumper for me. I couldn't really see her, so yesterday I put it in AI and I got some pretty cool results.

We must remember these are only guesstimate by AI as to what she may have looked like with skin. I also had AI try and show what she may have looked like in her earlier years.

Welp I guess that is enough for today. Just thought I would get a jump start back into organizing my completely jumbled up mind.
